How to use
- Choose what you know: pay per hour, year, month, week or day.
- Enter the amount, your hours per week and how many weeks a year you are paid.
- You get the matching hourly, daily, weekly, monthly and yearly pay. Turn on Add overtime to include extra hours at 1.5 times your hourly rate.
How it is calculated
Everything is converted to a yearly amount first:
- Paid hours per year = hours per week × paid weeks per year (40 × 52 = 2,080)
- Yearly = hourly × paid hours per year
- Hourly = yearly ÷ paid hours per year
- Monthly = yearly ÷ 12
- Weekly = yearly ÷ paid weeks per year
- Daily = yearly ÷ (5 × paid weeks per year), assuming a 5-day week
- Overtime = hourly × 1.5 × overtime hours per week, added for each paid week
A month is not exactly four weeks. A year has 52 weeks, so an average month has about 4.33 weeks, and monthly pay is a little more than four weekly paychecks.

The federal minimum wage is $7.25 an hour, but many states and cities set a higher minimum, and the higher rate applies. The calculator shows a note when the hourly rate is below the federal minimum.
